Guwahati Police Recover Rider Noni’s Stolen Bike

Two Arrested for Theft Linked to Exporting Bike

by Ananya Mehta

Guwahati Police have successfully recovered the stolen bike of Rider Noni, a female rider from Uttarakhand who embarked on a nationwide journey promoting women empowerment six months ago.

Noni’s bike was stolen on Thursday from a guest house in Guwahati. She shared a video on social media featuring CCTV footage of the theft, appealing to the public, Assam Police, and the Chief Minister for help in recovering her bike.

After an intensive four-day search, the bike was found in Fakirganj, South Salmara Mankachar district on Sunday. Police arrested two suspects, Ashraful Deban and Firoz Qazi, who are accused of being part of a gang planning to export the bike either abroad or to other states.

Authorities continue investigations to dismantle the larger network involved in such crimes. Rider Noni’s case highlights the challenges faced by travelers but also the strength of community and police collaboration.
