Ahmedabad Crime Branch Arrests Domestic Help for Rs93 Lakh Theft

Valuables worth Rs93.08 lakh recovered from accused janitor in Paldi

The Ahmedabad City Crime Branch has arrested Mahendra Padmalal Modaji Harmore, a 21-year-old domestic help, for allegedly stealing valuables worth Rs93.08 lakh from a residence in Paldi. The theft took place on February 22 at Saritakunj Society, PT College Road, where the accused reportedly used a key and password to access lockers and steal cash, gold jewellery, and other valuables.

A case was filed under Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Paldi police station. Following a thorough investigation using technical surveillance and human intelligence, the Crime Branch successfully apprehended Harmore, who hails from Palsrada village in Rajasthan’s Salumbar district.

Recovered items, valued at ₹93.08 lakh, have been seized by authorities. Further investigation is ongoing. Police have urged the public to verify domestic staff backgrounds carefully to prevent such crimes.
