PEARSON, Ga. (WALB) — Jeren Fullmore, the Mayor Pro Tem of Pearson, has been arrested and charged in connection with the theft of a document from the Pearson Police Department.
Sources confirmed Fullmore was taken into custody at City Hall on June 2 following an investigation into missing files at the department. According to reports, the incident took place on May 20, when Fullmore allegedly entered the police station through a semi-unsecured side entrance—after previously being blocked from using the front entrance by the newly appointed police chief.
Surveillance footage reportedly showed Fullmore taking a single sheet of paper from a file inside the chief’s office. The document is said to be related to allegations that led to his previous termination from the department.
The Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation on May 21, leading to Fullmore’s arrest.
He now faces the following charges:
Burglary
Theft by taking
Making false statements
Fullmore has since been released on bond, pending further legal proceedings.
