In an ongoing investigation into a burglary case in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, city police have uncovered a Mumbai-based gang linked to house burglaries across several cities in the country.
The case began when Venu Prasad, a resident of an apartment in Yelahanka, discovered a break-in upon returning from a trip outside Bengaluru on February 6. Upon entering his flat, Prasad found the main door broken and approximately 250 grams of gold jewellery missing from his wardrobe.
Using CCTV footage and other technical evidence, the police successfully identified the two suspects behind the burglary: James, a 39-year-old auto driver from Oshiwara, Mumbai, and Salauddin Sheikh, a 29-year-old resident of the same area in Mumbai.
The investigation has led to the uncovering of a network of burglars targeting multiple cities, with authorities working to trace other members of the gang and recover any stolen goods.
