SOUTHAVEN, Miss. (WMC) — Authorities have arrested one suspect following the completion of Operation 806, a coordinated human trafficking investigation involving multiple federal, state, and local agencies in Mississippi.
Randy Poindexter was taken into custody and now faces charges of promoting prostitution and contempt of court, according to officials. The arrest took place in Southaven as part of a broader crackdown on human trafficking networks in the area.
The operation involved collaboration between the following agencies:
Desoto County Sheriff’s Office
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Hernando Police Department
Mississippi Department of Revenue – Alcoholic Beverage Control
Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, & Parks
Southaven Police Department
Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch praised the joint effort:
“My office is committed to taking criminals who traffic people off the streets and equally committed to setting victims on the road to recovery,” she said.
