In a successful operation by the Khajrana police, two individuals have been arrested in connection with multiple burglaries across outer residential colonies along Ring Road. The gang had been primarily targeting these areas, conducting reconnaissance during the day and executing thefts at night.
On February 5, Musharraf, a 32-year-old resident of Scheme No 94 in Khajrana, locked his house and went to attend a wedding. Upon returning the next night, he found the main gate broken, valuables scattered, and his gold and silver jewellery, along with cash, missing. The police quickly registered an FIR and launched an investigation.
Through a combination of technical and traditional methods, the investigation led to the prime suspect, Akram, 40, a resident of Khajrani Kakad. During his interrogation, Akram confessed to committing the burglaries with his brother Javed alias Pappan, who remains absconding. The investigation also revealed the involvement of Sheikh Firoz Ali, a 50-year-old jeweller from Green Park Colony, who had been purchasing the stolen gold.
The police seized a significant amount of stolen property, including 170 grams of gold, worth approximately Rs 16 lakh, 150 grams of silver valued at Rs 15,000, and Rs 3 lakh in cash, totaling an impressive Rs 19.15 lakh. Among the recovered items were gold earrings, chains, rings, pendants, and various silver ornaments.
The arrested individuals, including Akram and Sheikh Firoz Ali, were taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing to locate the absconding Javed.
