NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Nicholasville police made an arrest on Friday in connection with a recent bank robbery that took place on Southland Drive. The robbery occurred on Tuesday at around 3 p.m. when a man entered the Central Bank on the 200 block of Southland Drive, demanded cash, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers from the Lexington Police Department (LPD) responded to the scene, and using investigative techniques and assistance from the department’s Real-Time Intelligence Center, detectives identified two suspects. Danzell Cruse, 30, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the robbery. According to an arrest citation, Cruse was seen throwing money from the robbery as he fled the scene. Cruse faces several charges, including:
First-degree robbery
Third-degree fleeing or evading police
Tampering with physical evidence
Trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces, first offense)
Trafficking in fentanyl (28 grams)
Charges related to an unrelated arrest warrant
On Friday, Corey Burch, 36, was arrested in Nicholasville and charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree fleeing or evading police, and theft of a motor vehicle. Burch was also facing charges for an unrelated warrant. He was taken into custody at the Jessamine County Detention Center.
The LPD thanked the Nicholasville Police Department for their assistance in locating and apprehending Burch.
