Kenneth Besecker Arrested for Kingston Bank Robbery

Suspect demanded money at M&T Bank and fled on foot

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man was arrested following a bank robbery Friday afternoon in Kingston.

At just after 2:30 p.m., Kingston Police responded to a reported robbery at M&T Bank, located at 800 Wyoming Avenue. According to Chief Richard Kotchik, the suspect, identified as 30-year-old Kenneth Besecker from Hunlock Creek, handed the teller a note threatening that he had a gun and demanded money.

After fleeing the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, Besecker’s whereabouts were quickly tracked with help from the Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI. He was apprehended about two hours later near his home.

Besecker was transported to the Kingston Municipal Police Department for processing and is set to be transferred to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
