Former Sarpanch Sushant Kute Arrested in Murder Case

Arrested After Two Months on the Run in Connection with Youth’s Murder

by Ananya Mehta

In a significant breakthrough, the Sinhgad Road police arrested Sushant Kute, the former sarpanch of Nandhe village, after he had been on the run for two months. Kute is accused of being involved in the murder of Samarth Netaji Bhagat, a 20-year-old youth, who was brutally assaulted on November 25 under suspicion of petrol theft.

The police had already arrested three other individuals in connection with the crime: Gaurav Sanjay Kute (24), Ajinkya Chandrakant Gandle (20), and Rahul Somnath Lohar (23), all residents of Manajingar, Nandhe. However, Sushant Kute had managed to evade capture until now.

The incident occurred around 7:30 AM when Samarth was attacked by the suspects. Samarth managed to contact his father, Netaji Bhagat, and inform him about the assault. When Netaji arrived, he found his son seriously injured and surrounded by a crowd. Despite being rushed to a private hospital with the help of locals, Samarth tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Following the initial arrests of the three suspects, police launched an extensive search for Sushant Kute, who had fled the scene. After two months of investigation, authorities finally tracked him down and arrested him. Kute has been remanded in police custody as the investigation continues.

The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Dilip Daingade and Crime Branch Inspector Uttam Bhajanwale, who worked tirelessly to solve the case and apprehend the fugitive.
