The arrests were made on January 27, and the individuals arrested included:

Andre Forbes, 27, of Binghamton, charged with enterprise corruption, numerous counts of grand larceny, and falsifying business records.

The investigation began on January 21 when Johnson City Police uncovered a retail theft scheme involving store employees and outside accomplices. These suspects managed to steal nearly $80,000 worth of merchandise by facilitating unauthorized discounts, often as high as 99% off.

During the investigation, officers observed several transactions that raised suspicion. Multiple search warrants were executed, leading to the recovery of significant amounts of stolen merchandise from various vehicles and residences.

The scheme reportedly started in November 2024 but escalated in frequency by January 2025.

Brooks, Forbes, and Mizell were remanded without bail after being processed at Broome County Central Arraignment. Gadson remains incarcerated on unrelated charges. Sandiford and Sandy were released on appearance tickets.

Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, with additional search warrants and possible arrests expected in the near future.
