by Ananya Mehta

The police have apprehended two individuals, Arshdeep Singh of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar and Amarjit Singh of Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar, in connection with a luxury car re-selling scam. According to authorities, the accused sourced luxury vehicles from New Delhi and other states, forged no-objection certificates (NOCs), and registered these cars with local number plates to sell them at inflated prices.

The arrests were made by the CIA staff of the police commissionerate. Following a tip-off, police intercepted the duo, who were driving a BMW with Delhi registration plates, at a checkpoint near Dugri Canal.

Upon further investigation, a fake police identification card was recovered from Arshdeep Singh. The local court has remanded both suspects to two days in police custody for further questioning.

A case has been registered against them under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to forgery and fraudulent activities.
