by Amelia Crawford

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) has arrested two men after they were caught in a stolen vehicle that contained drugs, firearms, and burglary tools. Jerell Bailey, 29, and Jaden Wooden, 19, were taken into custody following a police pursuit on January 20.

Police had been investigating a 2020 Jaguar XE that had fled from officers earlier. Detectives spotted the vehicle on Bell Road at Smith Springs Road, eventually following it to Crossings Boulevard. At that point, the suspects fled on foot. Wooden was found with two guns, one in his pocket and the other in his backpack. Police also found methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, and prescription drugs in the backpack, as well as bottles with other people’s names on them.

Bailey, a convicted felon with a history of drug offenses, was the passenger in the stolen vehicle. He faces charges of vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools, evading arrest, and felony drug possession. Wooden, the driver, is charged with felony drug possession, vehicle theft, reckless driving, possession of burglary tools, and two counts of gun possession during the commission of a felony.

Both men remain in custody as the investigation continues.
