Guwahati Police Arrest Four in Basistha Press Club Burglary

n a swift and successful operation, the Guwahati Police have arrested four individuals in connection with a burglary at the Basistha Press Club, located on AG Road. The suspects include Safiqul Islam (34), Inamul Ali (19), Minarz Ali (19), and Ashma Khatun (55), who were detained by the Basistha Police team under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD).

The burglary, which took place at the Basistha Press Club, involved the theft of various valuable items. The police acted quickly, recovering a wide range of stolen goods, including a broken AC, an AC cooler frame, an Intel sound box with four speakers, an Onida AC, two rolls of copper wire, and a rickshaw used to transport the stolen items. Additionally, the police seized Rs. 5,400 in cash, along with several burglary tools such as wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, hammers, and an electric cutter machine.

The suspects were arrested after a thorough investigation. Legal action has been initiated against them, and further inquiries are ongoing.
