Guwahati police have successfully apprehended several individuals involved in various criminal activities, including drug peddling, theft, and robbery, through a series of well-coordinated operations.
In the first operation, a team from Panbazar Police Station raided a location near 2 No Railway Gate and arrested Bablu Neog, a 24-year-old drug peddler from Bordoloi Nagar, Tinsukia. Police seized 7 vials of drugs, weighing 10.57 grams, from his possession.
Meanwhile, Gorchuk Police Station apprehended two thieves, Sagar Tamang from Boragaon and Mohibul Islam from Katabari, after they were caught in possession of a stolen battery.
The Jalukbari Police Station also arrested Rashmi Devi, alias Swabi Khatoon, 35, near Kanta Bridge, seizing 26 vials of suspected heroin weighing about 35 grams and Rs. 900 in cash from her.
In another major operation, Azara Police nabbed four thieves at Jongorabori, near the Brahmaputra River, while they were traveling in a Bolero vehicle. The police recovered various tools used for theft inside the vehicle. The suspects, identified as Md. Ajit Ali, Md. Ahmad Ali, Md. Wajed Ali, and Md. Mohiruddin Ali, were arrested, while one accomplice managed to escape in the darkness.
The police have seized significant evidence from all these operations, and further investigations are underway.
