In a shocking crime, four people were murdered in Singrauli district over an old grudge, and their bodies were discovered in a septic tank on January 4. Police arrested six individuals, including a minor, on Monday in connection with the brutal killings.
The accused have been identified as Raja Rawat (25), Buddhsen Saket (20), Harishchandra Saket (21), Rohit Saket (21), Neeraj Saket (19), and a minor. Neeraj was arrested in Varanasi. According to police, the accused shot dead three of the victims and physically assaulted and killed the fourth, identified as Pappu alias Joginder. The bodies were then dumped in a septic tank located behind a house.
The victims—Suresh Prajapati (son of the house owner), his friend Karan Sahu, Sahu’s brother-in-law Joginder alias Pappu, and Rakesh Kumar Singh—were all close friends. They had attended two parties at the house on January 1 and January 2. Police believe that during the second party, the accused executed the murder. The bodies were discovered at the house of Hari Prasad Prajapati, situated in Badokhar village near the Hindalco factory.
SP Singrauli Manish Khatri stated that the primary accused, Raja Rawat, harbored a grudge against Pappu alias Joginder, who had destroyed a house being built by Raja’s brother. This long-standing enmity led to the conspiracy, and Raja orchestrated the crime with the help of his accomplices. The police team, after thorough investigation, uncovered the real motive behind the murders and successfully apprehended the perpetrators.
