The PGI police have successfully dismantled a complex international online fraud network, resulting in the arrest of 12 tech professionals with B.Tech and BE degrees. These individuals, all driven by a common desire for quick financial gain, were apprehended from an apartment in Vrindavan Yojana, Lucknow, on Saturday.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Chandan alias Ricky (40) from Kanpur, Mohan Shyam Sharma (24) from Bharatpur, Utkarsh (33) from Thakurganj, Neeraj Kumar (33) from Raebareli, Karan Singh (28) from Hazratganj, Tarun Gupta (24) from Sant Kabir Nagar, Neeraj Pandey (27) from Delhi, Siddharth Kashyap (24) from Gonda, Rituraj Gupta (27) from Aliganj, Somnath Singh (29) from Bahraich, Virat Kumar (26) from Chandauli, and Ramjanak (49) from Basti.

During the raid, police seized various devices, including laptops from multiple brands, a tablet, airfiber units, routers facilitating uninterrupted internet access for calls, as well as mobile phones and headphones—tools central to their fraudulent operations.

“This operation goes beyond a simple raid; it dives deep into the complex activities of cybercriminals who exploit sophisticated techniques to manipulate their victims,” stated DCP Shashank Singh. He explained that the group developed malware designed to trigger misleading pop-up errors on the computers of foreign nationals, particularly those residing in the US, UK, and Canada, effectively drawing them into fraudulent schemes.
