On Thursday, Patna police arrested two individuals involved in an interstate theft gang. The arrest took place in the Musallahpur Haat police station area, where the police recovered a country-made pistol, live cartridges, a mobile phone, and an iron rod from the suspects. Authorities revealed the gang operated in association with criminal networks from Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.

Ankita Kumari, in-charge of Musallahpur police station, explained that the two suspects, Mohammad Nazim (from Mustafapur, Delhi) and Mohammad Faiz alias Faizan (from Yamuna Vihar), were spotted in a suspicious condition near the NCC office in Nand Nagar Colony. Upon noticing the police, they attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief chase. The duo had direct connections to gangs operating in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh, with their leader, Asgar, based in Mumbai. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend him. Authorities also linked the suspects to criminal groups from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.

In another incident, Patna police arrested Aakash Kumar, one of the suspects involved in the attack on a police team during a vehicle checking operation on November 24. The attack occurred in the Sri Krishna Puri police station area, where several youths, including vehicle owner Vinay Kumar Singh, physically assaulted the officers and damaged their Dial-112 bike.

The police personnel, including sub-inspector Munna Kumar and two constables, sustained injuries in the attack. The Secretariat SDPO-2, Saket Kumar, confirmed that an FIR had been filed against seven individuals, and Aakash Kumar was arrested from his residence in Sri Krishna Puri.

The incident unfolded when the youths were found drinking and playing loud music in their car during the checking. When the police attempted to intervene, the youths hit the officers and fled the scene. Further investigations are underway to identify and arrest the remaining suspects involved.
