Four Arrested in Connection with Aggravated Burglary in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Tenn. — Wayne County Sheriff Shane Fisher announced the arrests of four individuals following an extensive investigation into an aggravated burglary that occurred on November 30, 2024, in northern Wayne County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a burglary at a residence on Topsy Road, where the homeowners discovered that several antique items, musical instruments, and vehicles had been stolen. Investigators launched a lengthy inquiry into the incident, leading them to apprehend the primary suspect, Kayla Dawn Dunlap, in Crossville, TN. Dunlap was transported back to Wayne County on December 27, 2024, and charged with Aggravated Burglary and Theft Over $10,000. She is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court and is being held on a $75,000 bond.

Further investigation led deputies to execute a search warrant at 422 Stockard Street in Waynesboro on December 27, 2024. During the search, multiple stolen items from the Topsy burglary were recovered. Brian Carstensen was arrested and charged with Theft Over $10,000. He also faces a General Sessions Court appearance and has a $25,000 bond.

On January 3, 2025, deputies responded again to a burglary at the Topsy Road residence. They were able to locate two females inside the home: Ginger Gail Odom and Jessica Nichole Stephens. Both were arrested and charged with Aggravated Burglary and Theft Under $1,000. Each of them has a bond set at $52,500 and is due to appear in General Sessions Court.

This series of arrests marks a significant step in the investigation, with authorities emphasizing the dedication of Wayne County law enforcement in addressing property crimes and securing justice for victims.
