KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. (WBTV) – Four men have been arrested in connection with the fatal robbery of an armored truck at a Cleveland County pharmacy. The incident occurred on October 30 at Prescriptions Plus Pharmacy on East King Street, where 29-year-old Walter Henderson IV, a Loomis employee, was shot and killed while servicing the ATM.
Police have identified the suspects as Dominick Anthony Singleton, Jamal Delkeis Cunningham, Melek Isaiah Thomas, and Damareon Laron Dockery. Kings Mountain Police Chief Gerald Childress announced the arrests on Wednesday, emphasizing that the investigation continues to determine who actually pulled the trigger.
In the aftermath of the shooting, police quickly identified a black Jeep Compass as the suspect vehicle, releasing photos of the SUV in an effort to locate the suspects. They believe the vehicle fled the scene after Henderson was killed.
Henderson was found with a firearm, but it remains unclear if he used it before being shot. Authorities confirmed that he was working alone at the time of the robbery.
Chief Childress noted that the arrests brought relief to Henderson’s family, saying they were grateful for the progress in the case.
