Two Arrested After Robbing Man Over Car Sale on Facebook Marketplace

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery that took place on December 17 in Birmingham. Authorities say the suspects, Briana Bonds, 23, and Earron Bryant, 28, robbed a man at gunpoint after he attempted to purchase a car he saw advertised on Facebook Marketplace.

The victim told police he had arranged to buy a 2015 Chrysler 200 from a woman who requested cash for the transaction. Upon arriving at the designated location on the 700 block of 81st Place South, he was confronted by two suspects who proceeded to rob him at gunpoint.

Bonds and Bryant were later apprehended by police in the 7500 block of 67th Courtway South. Both have been charged with first-degree robbery and are currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.

Authorities are reminding the public that Birmingham Police Department precincts and headquarters are available as safe meeting locations for transactions arranged online.
