In a major breakthrough, the Nagpur Police have arrested three suspects linked to a series of thefts at smart traffic booths across the city. The Crime Branch Unit 3 successfully apprehended Ashish alias Bondya Chaudhary, Rajesh Kushwaha, and Sheikh Imran Sheikh Akbar, recovering stolen goods valued at Rs. 2.5 lakh.
The three accused have a history of criminal activities, with a total of six cases registered against them in various police stations throughout Nagpur. The thefts occurred across multiple locations, where the thieves managed to bypass the booths’ advanced security systems, including automatic locks designed for authorized personnel only.
The thefts targeted smart traffic police booths at key intersections in the city, including Alankar Talkies Chowk, Sardar Patel Chowk in Ganesh Peth, Kriplani Chowk in Dhantoli, Gadi Godown Chowk, and VCA Chowk. The stolen items included valuable batteries and other electronics.
Following the arrests, the suspects have been transferred to Sadar police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
