Five Arrested for Stealing Mobile Tower Equipment Worth Rs7 Crore

Five individuals arrested for stealing radio receiver units and baseband units from mobile towers across 8 states.

In a significant breakthrough, the police arrested five individuals on Sunday for allegedly stealing mobile tower equipment across eight states, including Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam.

The arrested individuals were identified as Shahrukh Malik (30), Wasim Malik (35), Anas Khan (22), Sahil Malik (19), and Quaum Mansoori. They were apprehended after police successfully tracked down their operations involving the theft of radio receiver units and baseband units from mobile phone towers.

The police have recovered stolen goods worth a staggering Rs7 crore, which includes 74 mobile TV radio receiver units, 122 baseband units, and other related equipment. Additionally, the vehicles used in the commission of the crime were also seized.

The gang had been active in stealing high-value mobile tower equipment from various parts of the country. The recovery of these items and the arrest of the accused marks a significant step in curbing mobile tower equipment theft.

The police are continuing their investigation into the gang’s network and possible involvement in similar crimes.
