Atlanta, Ga. — Kortez Ragland, an armed robbery suspect, now faces additional charges of felony murder and malice murder after an investigation linked him to a deadly shooting earlier this year. Ragland and his alleged accomplice, Kentraevious Hunter, were apprehended on December 7, 2024, following a search related to a November 23, 2024, armed robbery.
Police had initially arrested Hunter while he was walking along Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard. Ragland, the second suspect, was tracked to a crawl space on Euharlee Street. Officers noticed a distinct smell of cologne, which led them to locate and arrest him.
Ragland and Hunter had already been charged with aggravated assault, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and obstruction. However, following the investigation, Ragland was linked to a fatal shooting on Metropolitan Parkway on September 23, 2024. During this incident, two men were shot after a verbal dispute escalated, leaving one dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.
