GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery at Bob Richards Jewelry on December 16, according to the Germantown Police Department.
At approximately 1 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to a robbery at the jewelry store on South Germantown Road. Investigators revealed that the suspects, occupying two vehicles, targeted the store. One of the vehicles crashed into the store’s entrance, allowing the suspects to enter the showroom.
Reports indicate that the suspects were armed, and shots were fired by staff inside the store. However, no injuries were reported.
On Wednesday, Germantown police announced the arrest of Johnathan D. Spates, 29, Jackie J. Spears, 34, and Trayneisha N. Hurt, 29, all from Memphis. The trio has been charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and felony vandalism. Hurt is additionally charged with false reporting.
Police have also located and seized the two vehicles involved in the robbery. The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine the full scope of the crime.
