Davenport Man Sentenced to Over 16 Years for Meth Distribution
Davenport, IA – Eric Eugene Muhammad, 38, of Davenport, has been sentenced to 16 years and eight months (200 months) in federal prison for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
Between June 2022 and February 2023, Muhammad distributed methamphetamine in Davenport and Moline, including over 100 grams to a confidential informant. Court documents reveal that Muhammad has three previous drug convictions in Knox County and was on probation for an aggravated battery charge at the time of the offense.
Upon completing his prison sentence, Muhammad will serve a five-year term of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
The investigation into Muhammad’s drug activities was carried out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Springfield Division of the Quad Cities SAFE Streets Task Force, along with the Moline and Davenport Police Departments. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa.
