SUSUPE, CNMI — Two individuals involved in recent burglary and theft incidents appeared before the NMI Superior Court in Susupe. Shawn Reyes, 33, of Susupe, and Cherie Marie Delos Santos, 28, of Finasisu, face charges of burglary, theft, and conspiracy to commit both crimes.
On September 12, 2024, officers responded to a reported burglary at a residence in Susupe. The victim stated that two DJI drones, hand and power tools, car batteries, and personal luggage had been stolen.
Later that day, Delos Santos confessed to the thefts, providing officers with a walkthrough of the crime scene and detailing how she and Reyes had stolen items from the victim’s property. She stated that Reyes had directed her to drop him off at the victim’s house, where he stole two bags of items, including drones and tools.
Further investigation led officers to a silver Honda Civic, which was found to contain stolen items, including the victim’s wallet and ID cards, as well as a gallon of gasoline, which was also taken from vehicles in the area.
Reyes and Delos Santos were arrested on September 16, 2024, and have been remanded to the Department of Corrections. Both individuals were issued a $25,000 cash bail, with their preliminary hearing scheduled for September 25, 2024, and their arraignment set for October 7, 2024.
