Anya Taylor-Joy and her musician husband, Malcolm McRae, were the victims of a terrifying robbery at their London home, according to reports. The couple, along with McRae’s bandmate Kane Richotte, were staying at the luxury property in north London when masked intruders broke in.

The incident, which took place in February 2023, saw the burglars smash glass to force their way into the home and attempt to access Taylor-Joy and McRae’s bedroom. Fortunately, the couple and their friend were unharmed, though understandably shaken by the ordeal.

Kirk Holdrick, 42, has been named as the prime suspect in the break-in. He is accused of being one of the masked intruders and is currently being held on remand. Holdrick, who previously made headlines for dating The Only Way Is Essex star Hannah Voyan, has pleaded not guilty to burglary.

The burglary occurred just a week before Taylor-Joy made her red-carpet appearance at the BAFTA Film Awards in London. Holdrick’s trial is set to begin in September 2025 at Wood Green Crown Court.

The mansion, which was not owned by Taylor-Joy or McRae, belongs to a well-known public figure whose identity remains protected for legal reasons.

Anya Taylor-Joy has become a major star in Hollywood, known for her roles in The Witch, Split, Peaky Blinders, and The Queen’s Gambit. She is also set to star in the upcoming Mad Max prequel, Furiosa.
