SUMMERFIELD, Fla. — Teddie Rose Morris, 32, a resident of The Villages, was arrested on Monday after a traffic stop revealed she was wanted in connection with a 2023 theft at a local Walmart. The arrest occurred in Summerfield when the vehicle she was in was pulled over for having an unreadable license plate.
During the stop, a K-9 unit alerted to the vehicle, prompting a search that uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in Morris’s possession. A further check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant for Morris stemming from a theft incident on October 2, 2023, at the Walmart in Summerfield, where she had attempted to steal nearly $400 worth of merchandise. She fled the scene in a minivan, and a warrant for her arrest was subsequently issued. Morris had also failed to appear in court to answer to the charges.
Morris has a prior arrest history, including a 2022 incident where she was accused of stealing $30 and an EBT card from her 69-year-old mother. However, the charges were later dropped at the mother’s request.
As a result of her arrest on Monday, Morris is being held without bond at the Marion County Jail. She faces charges related to the theft at Walmart, as well as drug possession and paraphernalia. The investigation remains ongoing.
