The Wagholi police have arrested four individuals and recovered copper wire bundles valued at Rs13.44 lakh, following a major theft that took place on Sunday. The theft was reported in a First Information Report (FIR), which claimed 73 copper wire bundles worth Rs17.51 lakh had been stolen from the premises of a private company.
Pandit Rejitwad, the police station in charge, stated that the police acted swiftly after receiving valuable intelligence and analyzing CCTV footage. The investigation led to the apprehension of the driver of a pickup van, who confessed to his involvement in the crime, along with three accomplices.
The arrested suspects were identified as Jamal Abdul Rahman, a driver from Hadapsar; Anil Rikhiram Gupta, a resident of Vishrantwadi; Shivam Bajrangi Kashyap, from Dhanori; and Vishal Pappu Kashyap, who hails from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh. The recovery of the stolen wire and the arrest of the suspects have been hailed as a significant achievement for the local police.
