KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Platte County Prosecutor’s Office announced Tuesday that three individuals have been sentenced to significant prison time for retail theft and robbery offenses.
Marvin Calhoun, 28, was sentenced to 20 years for first-degree robbery and an additional 10 years for armed criminal action. Calhoun’s crimes occurred on October 5, 2018, when he stole merchandise from Dick’s Sporting Goods at Zona Rosa. While attempting to leave the store with a basket of Chiefs merchandise, he pulled a gun on a clerk who had asked if he needed help, before fleeing the scene. Calhoun will serve 85% of his sentence before being eligible for parole.
Aaliyah Walker, 25, received a six-year sentence for stealing $30,000 worth of merchandise over a three-year period. Walker committed 15 separate thefts from stores including Bath and Body Works, Sunglass Hut, and Sephora, between March 2021 and March 2024. She was charged with multiple counts of stealing and pleaded guilty to the offenses.
Asia Marshall, 32, was sentenced to seven years in prison for second-degree robbery and 11 counts of theft. Marshall’s crime spree spanned from May to December 2023, during which she committed multiple thefts, including a robbery at Bath and Body Works, where she punched a clerk. Marshall’s offenses resulted in a loss of over $35,000, and she faces concurrent seven-year sentences for each charge.
