The Gurdaspur Police have solved a robbery case at a jeweller’s residence with the arrest of four accused and the recovery of a significant portion of the stolen property.
According to Aditya, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), the arrests were made based on human intelligence and technical evidence gathered during the investigation. Police teams tracked down the suspects and successfully recovered part of the looted items.
The arrested accused are:
Rajbir Singh of Batala
Balwinder Singh of Batala
Simarjit Singh, a resident of Bhagwanpura Colony
Kulbir Singh of Batala
During the operation, police recovered Rs32 lakh in cash, about 1.3 kg of gold and silver jewellery, and the stolen Tata Harrier used in the robbery.
The robbery occurred on March 5, when unidentified persons allegedly entered the house of a jeweller in the city area and fled with gold, silver, cash, and a vehicle. A case was registered at the Police Station City Gurdaspur, and a special investigation team was formed to crack the case.
Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to identify additional suspects and recover the remaining stolen property.
