Dustin Wilson, Matthew Scheer Arrested in Wichita Falls Copper Theft

Two men face felony burglary charges for attempted copper theft

Two men in Wichita Falls, Texas were arrested after being caught allegedly attempting to steal copper from a local business.

According to police, Dustin Wayne Wilson, 40, and Matthew Alan Scheer, 46, were charged with burglary of a building, classified as a state jail felony.

Authorities reported that detectives from the Crimes Against Property Unit responded to an active burglary call in the 5900 block of Seymour Highway at 3:30 a.m. on March 11. When officers arrived, they caught Wilson and Scheer removing copper from the building.

Both men were booked into the Wichita County Law Enforcement Center on a $25,000 bond each.
