A man has appeared in court accused of breaking into a bar in Northwich and stealing several items.

Jonathan Heron, 39, of John Brunner Crescent, appeared before Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday facing a burglary charge.

According to Cheshire Police, the alleged burglary took place at a bar located on the Bull Ring on Friday, just four days before the court hearing.

Police say a window at the premises was smashed, and several items were taken during the break-in, including cash, a CCTV hard drive, and a tablet.

Heron was held in custody prior to his court appearance as the case proceeds through the legal process.
