A 24-year-old man was arrested in Pompano Beach following a violent domestic incident that reportedly included sexual assault.
Omari Johnson was taken into custody Thursday by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Pompano Beach Division. He faces multiple felony charges, including sexual battery, grand theft, robbery, criminal mischief, and battery/dating violence.
According to a probable cause affidavit, the victim met deputies on March 5 at a retail center on North Federal Highway to report abuse. Johnson allegedly snatched her phone and car keys before fleeing in her vehicle. About an hour later, he returned and allegedly physically assaulted her, striking her face and body, leaving visible bruising.
The arrest report states Johnson smashed the victim’s iPhone 16, valued at $1,200, against a wall to prevent her from calling 911. He is also accused of sexually assaulting the victim despite repeated demands to stop.

Johnson was transported to BSO Main Jail and is being held without bond pending a magistrate hearing.
