Delhi police in RK Puram arrested two suspects following an exchange of fire during an operation in the early hours of February 6.

The accused were identified as:

Sanjay, who sustained a gunshot wound to the leg

Sonu, his accomplice, also taken into custody

Both suspects are reported to have a history of robbery and other criminal activities.

Acting on a tip-off about their presence, police set a trap and challenged the suspects to surrender. Instead, the two opened fire, discharging six rounds, prompting officers to return fire with four rounds in self-defense.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:30 AM in the RK Puram neighborhood, where a police patrol observed the suspects riding a motorcycle, allegedly scouting for a robbery. The injured suspect, referred to by authorities as “Darinda”, was subdued, treated for his injury, and both suspects were taken into custody at the scene.

This operation highlights Delhi police’s proactive measures against armed criminals and the challenges faced during high-risk encounters.
