Three individuals were arrested on Monday for allegedly stealing a cow and a calf last week in Gobichettipalayam, police reported.
The accused have been identified as:
M Palanisamy, 43
R Somasundaram, 37
R Cholamuthan, 29
The complaint was filed on March 6 by Sathasivam, 48, who reported that a cow and a calf were stolen from his garden in Polavakkalipalayam village. Following an investigation, the accused were traced and apprehended.
According to A Sujatha, Superintendent of Police for Erode district, the stolen animals were recovered, and the pickup van used to transport the livestock was seized.
All three accused have been remanded to judicial custody at the Coimbatore Central Prison. Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
