Jeribeti Durga Arrested for Hospital Theft in Miyapur

Housekeeping worker stole patient attendant’s jewelry

Police in Miyapur arrested a 45-year-old housekeeping worker employed at a private hospital in Madeenaguda for allegedly stealing gold and silver ornaments belonging to a patient’s attendant.

The accused has been identified as Jeribeti Durga, a resident of Shivaji Nagar in Chandanagar. According to the police, she was working as part of the housekeeping staff at the hospital where the incident took place.

The case surfaced after a complaint was filed by a 43-year-old software engineer on February 26. In his complaint, he stated that some gold and silver ornaments kept inside his bag had gone missing while his wife was undergoing treatment in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

Following the complaint, Miyapur police launched an investigation and reviewed the circumstances surrounding the theft. Based on their findings, officers identified Durga as the suspect and subsequently arrested her.

Police said further investigation is underway to determine the full details of the theft and to recover the stolen ornaments.
