In a major breakthrough, the CIA-2 unit of Karnal police has solved the murder of a cab driver linked to a vehicle theft, arresting two suspects.

The operation was led by Inspector Parveen Kumar, with Sub-Inspector Devender Singh heading the action team. The accused have been identified as Parveen alias Peena, from village Kaimla, and Jatin, from village Jauhra, Gohana in Sonepat district.

According to DSP Rajiv Kumar, the duo planned the crime meticulously. They booked a cab from Delhi and lured the driver to a secluded location near village Kaimla in the Gharaunda area. There, the suspects allegedly murdered the driver, abandoned the body in nearby bushes, and fled with the vehicle.

Under the directions of the SP, district police teams conducted a coordinated operation. Utilizing technical surveillance, CCTV footage, and confidential inputs, the CIA-2 team successfully apprehended both accused.

A case has been registered at Sadar police station under relevant sections. Parveen alias Peena was produced before court, and a three-day police remand has been secured for interrogation regarding the weapon, recovery of the stolen vehicle, and probing any potential criminal links.
