Brahmanbaria police have arrested two members of a motorcycle theft syndicate and recovered a stolen bike during a pre-dawn operation in the Fish Market area under Sarail Upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, the Kuliarchar Police Station team conducted a drive at around 4:00 AM on March 2. The arrested suspects are Md. Russel Mia (22) and Md. Mominul Hasan (23).

During the raid, authorities recovered a stolen Suzuki Gixxer SF 155cc motorcycle and seized two mobile phones from the accused. Investigations revealed the bike was stolen on February 13 from Gailkata village in Kuliarchar. Police traced the suspects after learning a negotiation for the stolen motorcycle was being conducted via social media platforms.

In preliminary interrogations, the duo admitted their involvement and named two other accomplices, including Anwar Hossain, who remain at large.

In a separate operation, Md. Kaiyum (25), a convicted warrant-holder from Faridpur Union, was also arrested by Kuliarchar police.

OC Kazi Arif Uddin stated, “The stolen bike was recovered, and the suspects have been sent to court. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining accomplices.”
