Taylor Sanford, Jaquavis Marthrel Arrested in Colorado Springs Metal Theft Case

Two suspects taken into custody near Platte Avenue and Union Boulevard

Two suspects were arrested following a metal theft investigation in Colorado Springs, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Police said the Metro Theft Unit identified the location of Taylor Sanford, who had an active warrant for allegedly stealing approximately $15,000 worth of metal from local businesses and city parks.

During the investigation, officers also located Jaquavis Marthrel at the same address. Marthrel had an active warrant for second-degree burglary and was reportedly connected to about 10 identity theft and money laundering-related cases.

Members of the Burglary Unit and Tactical Officers arrested both suspects Wednesday near Platte Avenue and Union Boulevard.
