Eugene Campbell IV, 35, of Jacksonville, has pleaded guilty to robbing and shooting at two pizza restaurants in the city and now faces a minimum of 20 years in federal prison, the Department of Justice announced Wednesday.
Campbell pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act robbery and discharging a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence. He faces up to two life terms plus 20 years, with sentencing pending.
According to the DOJ, on August 4, 2025, Campbell entered a Little Caesars at 11101 Old St. Augustine Road armed with a sawed-off rifle, fired into the ceiling, and demanded money from employees. He stole approximately $500 before fleeing. The following day, he committed a similar robbery at Papa Johns, 5230 Baymeadows Road, firing his weapon into a wall and taking about $700.
Ballistics tests linked shell casings from both restaurants to the same gun used in another incident in St. Johns County. Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed Campbell’s associates to confirm his involvement. He was arrested on August 6, 2025, by officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Campbell admitted to both robberies upon his arrest. The investigation was conducted jointly by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and local law enforcement.
