JONESBORO, Ark. — Gamarius Isby, 21, was arrested in Jonesboro this week after police discovered a stolen handgun at a local pawn shop, according to a police report.
Jonesboro officers responded to the pawn shop on Feb. 23 along Nettleton Avenue after receiving a tip that Isby was attempting to pawn a firearm. Investigators determined that the handgun had been reported stolen from another jurisdiction.
According to the affidavit, Isby claimed he purchased the gun from another individual in 2025. Law enforcement contacted the agency that originally reported the firearm stolen and confirmed Isby had been identified as a suspect in that case, with supporting evidence.
Isby was taken into custody and transported to the Craighead County Detention Center. He was charged with theft by receiving a firearm valued at under $2,500. Judge Tommy Fowler set his bail at $50,000 cash or surety. Court records note that Isby is also wanted in Kentucky.
His next court appearance is scheduled for March 20.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
