The Davanagere Police have solved five high-profile cases involving murder, robbery, dacoity, and theft, arresting 11 suspects and recovering property valued at Rs70.6 lakh, including 534 grams of gold and 639 grams of silver.

Farmhouse Dacoity in Santhebennur
In the September 6 dacoity at a farmhouse near Kakanuru village, Channagiri, five suspects from Salem district, Tamil Nadu—Satish Kumar (40), Keshavan (43), Arun Prashanth (26), Arasu (26), and Kamaladevi (38)—were arrested.
Police said the gang threatened residents Savithramma and Madappa at night, decamping with valuables. Officers recovered 96 grams of gold worth Rs14 lakh. Many of the accused have multiple prior cases in Tamil Nadu and Bengaluru.
KTJ Nagar Gold Theft
On February 17, Gautham Raj (35), an auto driver from Vinobanagar, Shivamogga, was arrested for a gold theft at Azgar Ali’s house in KTJ Nagar. Police recovered 261 grams of gold worth Rs29 lakh. Investigations revealed he targeted locked houses by tracking residents’ movements and was linked to 19 cases across KTJ Nagar, Basavanagar, and Harihar.
Nalluru House Theft
Tenants Syed Mudasir (19), Syed Muzammil (19), and Mohammad Sahil (24) were held for a February 14 theft at Syed Nafees’ house in Nalluru. Officers recovered 72 grams of gold worth Rs10 lakh.
Channagiri Theft and Snake-Catching Ruse
Parashuram (28) from Bhadravathi was arrested for a September 2 theft in Channagiri. Police seized 38 grams of gold worth Rs8 lakh and 200 grams of silver. He allegedly scouted homes under the guise of being a snake catcher.
Nyamati Murder and Robbery
In the Nyamati murder case, Abhishek K (23) was arrested for killing Kamalamma (64) and robbing 67 grams of gold worth Rs8.4 lakh, which he reportedly pawned to fund his online gaming habit.
SP Shekhar emphasized that thorough investigations, tracking, and technical surveillance helped resolve multiple cases spanning several districts.
