BATON ROUGE, La. — Tyran Jackson, 27, was arrested by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office after investigators recovered approximately $62,000 worth of stolen FedEx merchandise.
Officials said the recovered items included Nike shoes, candy, nicotine products, and graded sports cards from missing shipments. Jackson, a FedEx driver, was taken into custody and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. Authorities confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to determine if additional charges or arrests may follow.
According to EBRSO, tracking technology allowed detectives to trace the stolen shipments to a storage unit on the 6000 block of Jones Creek Road, where the goods were recovered. Photos released by the Sheriff’s Office on Facebook showed the variety of items seized as evidence.
This arrest follows a similar incident earlier in February involving another FedEx driver, Draterrius McCollough, 31, accused of stealing approximately $32,000 in merchandise intended for a local Walmart store. McCollough was booked on a felony theft charge.
No additional details regarding Jackson’s court appearances or bond have been released. EBRSO stated that further updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
