Shobha, who lived with her wheelchair-bound husband, was reportedly attacked around 4 pm when Shivakumar entered the house under the pretext of asking for water.
Police allege that Shivakumar strangled Shobha and stole over 100 grams of gold jewellery, fleeing the scene while her bedridden husband was unable to intervene.
Investigation and Arrest
Officers examined CCTV footage from nearby streets and relied on local intelligence to track the suspect’s movements, leading to his arrest within six hours.
During questioning, Shivakumar confessed that he planned the robbery to repay loans due to financial debt. Authorities have recovered the stolen jewellery.
