Assam police recently carried out several operations, leading to multiple arrests across Guwahati for drug possession, theft, and illegal liquor sales.
Drug-Related Arrests
At the Fancy Bazar Police Outpost, Ali Hussain from Nagaon was apprehended near Railway Gate No. 2 with 6.1 grams of heroin, while Kamal Kalita from Palasbari was arrested near Railway Gate No. 3 carrying 7.1 grams of heroin.
Theft Cases
The Fatasil Ambari Police arrested Nripen Barman and recovered 20 kg of copper wire, fans, and motor coils allegedly stolen from Kahilipara HS School.
Similarly, Dispur Police detained Dinesh Boro and Sunil Thapa, recovering stolen goods from them.
Illegal Liquor Operation
The Basistha Police arrested Upen Boro from the Basistha area after recovering 137 bottles of IMFL and 38 bottles of beer from his residence. Investigations revealed he was operating an unlicensed bar from his home.
Authorities continue to investigate all cases, aiming to curb illegal drug distribution, theft, and unauthorized liquor sales in the region.
