The Chandkheda Police have arrested two men for allegedly stealing an air-conditioner compressor from a commercial establishment in Chandkheda and have recovered the stolen property along with a motorcycle used in the crime.
A surveillance team led by Police Inspector H M Ahir received information that two suspects were passing through Chandkheda crossroads on a black motorcycle with a blue-striped number plate, carrying the stolen AC compressor from the Chandkheda Highway Mall.
Acting promptly, the police intercepted and detained the suspects for questioning. During interrogation, the duo allegedly confessed to the theft, leading to their formal arrest.
The accused have been identified as:
Ravindra alias Ravi (27), a labourer residing in Kanyadan Nagar near Visat Mata Road, Chandkheda
Ritvik alias Rahul (27), a labourer residing in Ramapirno Tekro, Juna Vadaj
Police recovered spare parts of the AC compressor, including the outdoor unit body, fan, motor, circuit, and outer coil, collectively valued at Rs30,000. Additionally, a motorcycle without a registration number plate, believed to have been used in the theft, was seized. The two-wheeler, identified by its chassis and engine numbers, is estimated to be worth around Rs15,000.
A case has been registered at Chandkheda Police Station under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Further investigation is underway to determine if the accused were involved in similar thefts in the area.
