Bihar STF Arrests Two in Mysore Gold Jewellery Heist

Rishikesh Singh and Pankaj Kumar nabbed for stealing 8.32 kg of gold in Karnataka

Patna: The Bank and Jewellery Cell of the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) arrested Rishikesh Singh alias Patthal Singh alias Chhotu Singh (Darbhanga) and Pankaj Kumar alias Satuaa (Bhagalpur) for their involvement in a gold robbery that took place on December 28 in Hunsur town, Mysore district, Karnataka.

The gang had stolen 8.32 kg of gold jewellery from a shop, escaping before police could apprehend them. Following the robbery, a case was registered under Sections 310(2)/351(2) of BNS and 3/25 Arms Act with Hunsur town police station.

Acting on directives from senior officers, the Bihar STF formed a special investigative team under DSP Anand Kumar to coordinate with police in Karnataka and track down the culprits across state lines.

During the arrest, authorities recovered a two-wheeler, Rs 1 lakh in cash, a looted gold chain, a gold ring, and a jewellery storage box. Interrogation revealed that the gang had conducted reconnaissance in Jaipur, Visakhapatnam, and Mysore, planning similar crimes.

The STF further noted that both accused have multiple criminal cases registered against them in Bihar, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand. The Mysore police are continuing further legal proceedings.
