Kangpokpi Police seized 225 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar weighing 9.844 kg during a joint operation on October 14, 2025, under the supervision of SP Abhinav, IPS.
The operation followed specific intelligence regarding the transportation of narcotics in the region. A combined team, led by Addl. SP (L&O) Kangpokpi, SDPO Kangpokpi, SDPO Saparmeina, and OC Kangpokpi Police Station, coordinated with personnel from the 16 Assam Rifles and 112 Battalion CRPF.
During the raid, three individuals were arrested:
Veineichong Lhungdim – resident of C. Munnom Village, Saitu Gamphajol
Thongkhopao Lhungdim – spouse of Veineichong Lhungdim
Thangminlun Haokip – son of Thanghao Haokip, from T. Thangkan Village, Saikul
Authorities also seized an Alto car and a diesel auto used for transportation, along with four mobile phones suspected to have been used to coordinate the drug operation.
The seizure is part of ongoing intelligence-based efforts by Kangpokpi Police and security forces to combat organized narcotics trafficking in the region.
