Pune: The Dehu Road police arrested three men on Monday and recovered five stolen motorcycles and an autorickshaw worth Rs 5 lakh, officials confirmed.

The accused had been stealing two-wheelers from various parts of Pimpri Chinchwad over the past three months. Police identified them as Ishwar Gaje (22) of Khalumbre village, and Aniket Vitkar (20) and Aryan Raut (19), both residents of Moshi.

According to an officer, a tip-off about a motorcycle being ridden without a registration plate led to the arrest of Gaje. During interrogation, he admitted to the theft and revealed the names of his two accomplices.

Subsequently, police arrested Vitkar and Raut and recovered four additional motorcycles along with an autorickshaw.

The officer added that the team has so far solved six theft cases linked to the trio, including four registered with Pimpri Chinchwad police and two with Pune police.
